        In London 1831, the dawn of Industrial Revolution. A little girl was crying in graveyard. Ulrion, the god of Death saw the girl and told her not to cry, as those who passed away will always be there taking care of their beloved ones. The girl stopped moaning. "May I be your friend?" the girl asked "You are so very kind." "Do you still want to be my friend even I will take you soul away? " "Yes, Death." the girl answered determinedly. The innocence and the bravery of the little thrilled Ulrion deeply. He then decided to protect this girl safe from harm till her very sat berth.
        However, the friendship between Ulrion and the girl was discovered by "the one", the god go gods. He took away Ulrion's heart as a punishment as gods must not have any relationship with mankind. Ulrion with out his heart is not the kind Ulrion we knew in the past. He became ruthless and knew nothing about "mercy". Ulrion went on a long long search for his heart. Later he found a little boy is the heart-bearer. Unfortunately, the boy was also one of the girl's friend. In order to get back the heart, Death must kill the boy by his soul-gathering lantern, but his memories of the little girl kept him away from the boy. Ulrion knew the death of the boy will cast a deep sorrow on the girl's soul.
        This situation didn't last long. The boy finally had to encounter Death face to face. Ulrion made a contract with the boy, if he couldn't get the heart back in one year, then he would not bother the boy any more. The boy and the girl the set on a dangerous journey to get rid of Ulrion's lantern. They even accidentally fall into a mutated dark world, where there eclipse lasts forever. This hopeless world is the world for evil souls after death. The boy met the last heart-bearer, and the old man told him being the bearer is determined to live here after death. The old man also helped the boy to discover a kind of power called "raven eye", which is one of the powers of Death. Those who have Raven Eye can read one's life or the memories of old objects. This power can help the boy know more about the whole thing going on. 
        Ulrion's huge change on his personality had stung the girl's heart. She cried for Death. Every tear she dropped became a sharp dagger that can kill a god. Ulrion was seriously wounded by the girl's tears. When the girl knew this fact, she felt terribly painful. Misfortune quickly laid upon them. Because of a wrong decision of the boy, the girl was killed by Ulrion. When the boy found her corpse, he totally burst into tears. He lost his family during his escape, and now his best friend. He lost everything. The boy now became so fragile, and his will became weak which can't protect him any more. In the late winter, Ulrion finally took the boy's life successfully. Getting back his long-losted heart, he now again know how to love, how to treasure and of course how to care. Ulrion looked back what he had done, those cruel things almost tore him. The scenery of the day he first met the girl appeared in his mind again. 

        "Do you still want to be my friend even I will take your soul away?" 
        "Yes, Death"
